For Katie Martin, a financial advisor’s most important skills are listening and empathizing with others. Since 1999, Katie has been using those skills to guide clients in making sound financial decisions that affect their lives and their families. Katie’s goal is to help reduce the stress surrounding financial decisions for each of her clients:
I realize that my clients’ financial concerns are of the utmost importance to them, and I address their needs with the same care and attention I would give to my own. I’m a nurturer and listener by nature, so my priority is reassuring clients that I hear, understand, and share their priorities, and that I will take all the appropriate steps to get the job done.”
Katie’s years of experience in establishing Traditional IRA’s, ROTH IRA’s and 529 College Savings Plans as well as handling 401(k) rollovers with a focus on Retirement Income Planning have enabled her to build long-term relationships with her clients:
Sometimes clients come in and only need help in one area or with one kind of planning, and that’s great…but I think it’s really a gift to be able to see clients through from the beginning stages—like buying their first home or saving for their kids’ college education—to the later stages and retirement.”
For several years Katie also served as Business Development Specialist for a local broker/dealer and as a member of the Wealth Management team at a local financial institution. These experiences provided her with an invaluable and in-depth understanding of the financial services industry.
Katie currently holds Series 6, 63 and 65 registrations as well as a life insurance license. These enable her to offer fixed and index annuities, variable annuities, life insurance, mutual funds and advisory accounts to her clients.
A native of southwestern Pennsylvania, Katie is a member of the South Hills Women’s Business Network, the National Association of Professional Women, POWER of SouthPointe, and the Washington Chamber of Commerce. As a longtime member of Chartiers-Hill UP Church, Katie has served in many areas including Youth Ministry Leadership, Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Director, Mission Team member, and Treasurer of the Board of Deacons.
Katie and her husband, Jim, are the parents of three adult children. These days they focus their attention on the newest member of their family, their Golden Retriever, Champ.
